Together, we engage in advanced, interdisciplinary projects that combine different fields of expertise.

Recruitment of Postdoctoral Fellows

We are seeking postdoctoral fellows from both Japan and abroad who are motivated to take on a variety of research themes.

Eligibility

  • PhD holders (or those expected to obtain a PhD).
  • Research experience in fields such as molecular biology, cell biology, stem cell research, medical science, or computational sciences (AI, bioinformatics).

In our laboratory, English proficiency is considered an essential part of research ability, and Lab meetings with all members are conducted in English. We value diversity and have members from multiple countries, so communication in English is always possible. While Japanese is helpful for daily life, it is not required for research activities. For practical matters such as daily living, the Keio University International Center and lab members provide support. Our Principal Investigator (PI), a world-renowned scientist, provides direct and personalized supervision. This close mentoring system is highly valuable for career development as a scientist. In addition to regular lab meetings, we hold small-group discussions, ensuring that students and postdocs receive ample guidance. You will have frequent opportunities—almost daily—to discuss your research directly with the PI, which allows you to develop solid research skills.

Projects are determined through one-on-one discussions with the PI, based on each member’s curiosity and questions. Your strengths and academic background are taken into account, and the goal is to establish internationally competitive research themes. Good research topics are refined over time, and projects are finalized through thorough and careful discussions.
